Okay, I'm slowly getting back into a routine from lockdown. Today it was pretty small:

• Errands (Rent, electric, gas, internet - can't do phone* until tomorrow.) I might try to get groceries - online order - done as well.

*What I'd like to do is pay about £400 onto my phone's account - about a year's bills in advance. That way, I'm not late during the months my phone bill and paycheck don't line up. But they don't let me put money onto the account in advance unless I actually owe money.

• Ate leftovers instead of take-out today. (Trying to get back down to chicken and veggies, or at the very least vegetarian burritos.)

• Got straight into my gym clothes* today and put my clothes in the wash (Chores: Pandemic Edition) instead of sitting first or taking a shower first - it takes over two hours for the wash to do any cycle that needs 60°C or higher.

*Did not succeed in getting on my gym equipment as soon as I got home. Which I should have done; it would have been better for my knees and ankles - but I was just so tired.

The "Bill Binder" is a pretty good setup, not perfect, but it works:

1. 12 dividers (one for each month of the year)

2. Card protectors - two before the dividers (one holds the cards for topping up utilities like gas and electric, one for holding bus/train passes.)

3. Card protector after each divider to hold the receipts from the utilities (which are about card-sized.)

If I were living on my own, I'd probably do it similarly - it's a pretty good system. Well, except if I were living on my own, I would probably have a scanner and do it digitally, with folders/sub-folders:

Year -> Expenses -> Utilities -> Month

Since I live with housemates, the paper is better so everyone can see you've paid. Though sometimes the receipts don't make it into the binder (if I pay a utility by phone, I don't get a receipt. Also, sometimes I persistently get an error message and save the receipt or card for Patrick to top it up, but then the receipt seems to have a habit of getting lost.)

I got a pair of shoes today for exercising in the house, so I can give my tennis shoes a bit more of a breather. I might do two pairs, especially if I can find a bigger pair.
